Coach Jorge Villafaña, a retired professional soccer player who started his professional career with Chivas USA, as he won Sueno MLS in 2007. Villafana played for Chivas USA from 2007-2013 and was then transferred to the Portland Timbers who he played for from 2014-2015. While with the Timbers, the Timbers won the 2015 MLS Cup. After the successful season, he was then sold to Santos Laguna, in Mexico. While playing for Santos, Santos became champions as they won the Clausura 2018. He would then return to the Portland Timbers in 2018, where the Timbers won the MLS is Back Tournament. Villafaña’s last professional club would be LA Galaxy.
Coach Villafaña also played for the USA men’s national team. Villafaña started off with the U20’s and then played for the U23. Villafaña made his full United States debut in 2017. Villafaña was a part of the 2018 World Cup qualifying team and the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. During the Gold Cup, the USA would go on to win it all.
